The story begins in 1743, when Claude Moët, an Epernay wine merchant, founded the Maison Moët. It was he who began the transformation of champagne from a much-appreciated but little known wine into a favourite of cosmopolitans and courtiers throughout Europe. His grandson, Jean-Rémy Moët, was a visionary who greatly contributed to making champagne what it is today, tirelessly working to fulfill his lifelong goal “to share the magic of champagne with the world.” Moët & Chandon champagne gives full expression to the richness and diversity of the fabulous vineyards, comprising almost exclusively of Premiers Crus and Grands Crus. The joyous wines, with a generous and seductive personality, are distinguished by their sparkling fruitiness, flavoursome body and elegant maturity.
